Molecular Biology Instruments – Gene Transduction

Gene transduction (Gene gun)

Gene transduction (Gene gun)

Gene gun technology (particle bombardment) is a new gene introduction technique that accelerates micron-sized gold or tungsten particles encapsulated with nucleic acids to the desired speed into cells, tissues or organs. It can be used to obtain instantaneous, stable and efficient expression and transformation. It is fast, easy, safe and efficient.

Features

Simple, fast, flexible and suitable for a wide range of cell types

Facilitates transient and stable expression

Requires only a small amount of DNA and cells, no vector DNA

Can be commonly introduced without restrictions for large fragments of DNA plasmids

In vivo and in vitro transformation and high specificity

Unique circular transformation of the bombardment chamber, which is removable for easy cleaning and sterilization

Low cost of material use, costing $18 per gun in addition to high-pressure gas

High reproducibility

Uniform particle distribution

Maximum control of the experimental process

System Standard Configuration

Host , vacuum pump, 1000 gun dissipation (3.5/4.5/7Mpa ruptured membrane, carrier film, stainless steel mat, 2 bottles of gold powder , 1 bottle of tungsten powder )

Application Areas

Animals: tissues (skin, organs), cells, organs, etc.

Plants: living plants, leaves, or other plant tissues

Yeast, bacteria, and other microorganisms

Gene expression research

Agricultural biotechnology and crop improvement

Plants vaccines

Main Technical Parameters

Target region (big)40cm2
Pressure range 3-12MPa
Target Type Animals: cell and organ culture Plants: The smaller of the whole plants, cell culture, explant, yeast,
bacteria and other micro-organelles, chloroplast, mitochondria
Voltage 220V/110V
Gas Helium or nitrogen (Helium is better)
Metal Particle Φ0.8-1.5μm; Φ1.5-3.0μm

The Handheld Gene Gun is a convenient handheld device. It allows for rapid and direct in situ gene transfer to cells. The system uses adjustable helium or nitrogen pressure to drive gold particles, pre-packaged with DNA, RNA or other biological material, located on the inside of a small plastic tube, directly into the cell, making transgenic work more flexible to perform.

Features

Highly targeted: no extraneous genes or proteins are introduced into the sample

Convenient and fast: portable design allows transformation to be performed in the field

Highly functional: enables transformation of cells with specific growth needs compared to other methods

Low sample requirements: only small amounts of DNA and cells are required, no vector DNA required, and no restrictions on large fragments of DNA

High transformation rate: small shooting area and uniform particle distribution allow transformation of different sizes of receptors, ensuring transformation efficiency

Facilitates transient and stable expression

Application Areas

Animals: any exposure to gene gun outside the tissue (skin and organs), cell, organ, etc

Plants: the field and greenhouse plants explant

Yeast, bacteria and other microorganisms

Gene expression studies

Agricultural biotechnology and crop improvement

Plant vaccine

Organelles, chloroplasts and mitochondria
